Slavko Zupcic

Slavko Zupcic (Valencia, Venezuela, 1970) is a psychiatrist and writer. He was selected as a member of the group “Bogotá 39” by the Hay Festival and the City of Bogotá. The literary critic Diego Trelles Paz included him in his short story collection “The Future is Not Ours”. Among other awards, he has received the first prize in the Biannual José Rafael Pocaterra (1988), the “Premio Municipal Ciudad de Valencia” (1991) and was part of the shortlist of the XIX Herralde Prize for Novel. He has published the novels Barbie, Círculo croata and Pésame mucho (collected in the volume Tres novelas, 2006), and the short story collections Dragi Sol (1989), Vinko Spolovtiva, ¿quién te mató? (1990), 583104: pizzas pizzas pizzas (1995) and Médicos, taxistas, escritores (2011). He explored the realm of children literature with the poetry book Escúcheme, Señor Sol (1989), and the children’s novel Guiliana Labolita: el caso de Pepe Toledo (2006). He currently lives in Valencia, Spain.
